PostSubject: First Flight   ASM Flying Fortress - Page 2 EmptyWed 13 Apr 2011, 6:58 pm

Had a few hours spare today (Wednesday), so took the Fortress down to the Appledore site for its first flight. Wind was SW right down the secondary runway, so after charging her up, off she went. Bit like flying a bathtub until she was trimmed out. Being electric, you've got to keep the speed up or she tends to stall. A couple of low passes and then took her around for finals. Landing was very predictable and easy.

I'll do a few more flights to get the hang of the battery charging lark and then bring her down to Lydd.

Over and out.
