I remember these good looking models well,i had a champ with a dc merlin up front.I joined the Finchley and District Model Aero Club in 1972 when i was eleven. It was a control line club as radio control was out of most peoples reach. We had a council provided flying site at Scratchwoods in north west London. They even layed a tarmac runway.I went back there acouple of months ago,it hadn't changed much in 30 years since i was last there flying. There were a few weeds groing out of cracks in the tarmac,I also since learnt its the local gay knocking shop now which somewhat spoilt my affections for this place.I'll try and find some pictures from the seventies, and would be interested to see and hear of other members early model experiences or anything else of interest.Perhaps we could start a nostalgia section on the forum.regards Adrian.

The story that Adrian wrote a couple of posts back was very interesting and thanks for taking the time to write and post it mate, would love to see some pics of your early flying days Question
I am sure there are so many other interesting stories out there from other members at KENTS BEST. would be great to here from YOU ALL with a story on how you got into model flying and accompanied with pics would be just fantastic...so come on lads lets try and make some effort and add some spice to this dull forum of blank screens every night scratch scratch scratch

We have so much to say at the flying field and spend most of the day talking but when on here you would think we were all shy and never met silent silent silent

Come on chaps Angel

If I remember right, an old boy came down the patch mid summer with a car boot load of old stuff, he was giving it all away and Les took the "DISCO" off his hands.... it was in a sorry state but pleased to hear it's flying again. I saw one in the air years ago, they do look weird but fun too, must be almost unstallable. Bravo

I had a couple of flights with Les' Disco........Interesting!!

As long as the prop is turning, it'll fly. If the engine cuts, it drop like a manhole cover Shocked
