I know this doesnt quite qualify as a "build project", but it's something I made that works (!!!!)
Probably a few of you saw the article in one of the recent mags about this clevis opener designed by Ken Spokes.
Since I came back to aeromodelling 2 years ago the one thing that has really bugged me (well there are others!) is the difficulty of opening clevises easily, rather than just prodding at them with a screwdriver - which I have been doing for 2 years. Well try this...................
Kens article....
My first two versions - the top one is with soldered joints showing my usual dodgy soldering, the lower one I tried using adhesive filled heatshrink tube - much better and simpler...
I had previously been searching for one of these - made by DuBro some years ago but now obsolete and seemingly unavailable - don't know how well they worked anyway.
Kens tool works really well (!!) and just needs a wire coat hangar and some suitable brass tube - SIMPLES !!!
