| First turbine start, taxi and range test went well after we discovered some idiot had soldered the fuel pump multiplex plug reverse polarity so the pump was trying to send the fuel back to the tank. That sorted it started and ran beautifully with loads of power. Taxiing was easy and tracked straight and acceleration was brisk so should get away with field to spare. The nav, strobe and landing lights really showed up well in the gloomy conditions. Thank you to Ian for your help. | |

We all make mistakes when putting models together, especially when the install is more involved, as is the case with turbine models.
Could have been worse, You could have connected the ailerons and flaps the wrong way round and had the throttle reversed..... Now that would have been silly!! (Don't worry, I won't mention it to anyone!!)

| Take off with a little room to spare. I was requested by my coach to apply the up elevator before we ran out of field. The flight went well but I handed over to ILS for the landing as there was no wind to slow us down so the approach and landing had to be perfect, as it was. Oh yes, that Badger wire certainly sliced a few pieces of ham off the bone for sure...many a good model were wrecked on overuns but i suppose it kept Bill The Badger from digging up the runway which was equally as deadly to a model Amazing the damage that can be done on a perfectly good landing but a shortage of turf....gutting eh I wonder if they do a Spinner Airbag...mmmmm perhaps we could design something Regards Professor GBEE | |
